Stress relief...

Three years ago I became a marathon runner (for multiple reasons). While health is the main reason, a close second is stress relief. Nothing makes me feel better when I'm stressed than a good ole fashion run...and the more stressed I am, the harder I go.

FYI, just completed my 16th half marathon along with 4 full marathons. Great for stress...and you get t-shirts.

I have taught classes on every aspect of stress. One of my main points I cover is, it doesn't matter what you do to relieve your stress, as long as it is positive!! What works for one doesn't always work for another. I also try to reinforce that it's OK to take time for yourself, even if it's only a few minutes a day. Sometimes this is difficult, especially for Moms.

Carolyn, It sounds like you have developed a well balanced plan. I love hearing that you have so many different outlets that you can depend on. I imagine this gives you great flexibility.

Dr. Melissa Read

I do yoga and meditate, walk and read. The yoga helps physically as well and cna be done any whereincluding at work. Shoulder rotations, stretches etc.

That's awesome! I think that any type of physical activity is great as a stress reliever because there are really multiple benefits! I tend to enjoy reading as a stress reliever as well as running/working out... however, the working out is definitely more beneficial to physical fitness than reading every night. ;)
