Yoga a Solution for Stress

I happen to be fortunate to have my other job being a Yoga Studio. As a long time practioner of all that yoga is, I have a built in method for handling the stress that comes with have two jobs and a life. It is my job to relieve the stress of others and provide tools to deal with life challenges.

So, this topic is near and dear to me, but also distant and mostly under control.

So true! I joined a nearby gym and go after classes. I find that not only am I less stressed out, but I also have more energy for my very needy classes. i go to "hot yoga" classes on the weekend and come back feeling strong and positive for Mondays (most times).

YESSSS,
YOGA is a wonderful stress buster!!! I too am a yoga & meditation instructor with my studio attached to my house :) I practice (do yoga & meditate) every morning...I get up a hour early to have a long practice session...it is vital to my survival as a teacher.

BUT, I still get extremely stressed out at times during my school quarters. when the work load is heavy @ school my life becomes unbalanced & my stress level is through the roof... a lot has to do with my schedule I teach early morning & late-night class with not enough rest time in between.

My practice keeps me sane...
I often wonder what other folks do that do not practice yoga...How can they function???

Araceli, What an interesting combination. Yoga is so peaceful and kick boxing is quite the opposite. Sounds like you have an outlet for every mood! Nice.

I do Yoga and Kick Boxing. This combination works great for me.

Kathleen, That sounds like a wonderful class that I'm sure all of us could use. I like how you are teaching your students specific techniques that they can take with them long after they leave the classroom.

I teach massage therapy and I have my student do yoga, tai chi, stretching, and relaxation/meditation practices during our class time. It teaches them ways to reduce stress even when they are not in school. Plus, it helps them to have a long, healthy career in a very physical profession.
