Stress Free?

Some people are not able to have a strees free life.

This is an important point Leslie. Each individual is best served when we identify those unique abilities and leverage them to the fullest.

Dr. Read I agree that stress is an individual experience. Different people have different tolerances, but i would like to add that different people also have different abilities to turn stress from negatives to positives or motivators. This ability I feel is greater then having the ability to tolerate stress.

Stress will always be thress. is all going to be on a individual basis.

I don't think anyone can have a stress free life, but there are ways to reduce it for sure.

I agree Colin. We must approach stress with reasonable expectations. Stress cannot be permanently eliminated.

I think a big step in dealing with stress appropriately and effectively is to truly come to terms with the concept of stress as an unavoidable aspect of daily life. Coming to terms with the abiding presence of manageable stress really helps to provide the perspective required of someone who manages stress effectively. Falsely thinking that one can or even should eliminate ALL stressors in one's life only guarantees disappointment. And added stress. Ahh, this mortal coil...

Let's break all of this hoo hah down...stress is bad and we need to try to eliminate stress? I have to agree with you Johnny...sometimes you cannot get rid of stress. Some people are just wired that way, raised in a house of stress, disgusted with life and work, have hate issues, road rage frequently or are just plain tired of life. What can you do? I just try to be graceful under pressure which is harder to do the older I get.

The truth in this observation only serves to point out the importance of balance.

Stress is indeed a very individual experience. Different people have different tolerances to the same stressors.

I would have to agree with Johnny. Stress will always be there, but how the person deals with it, is all going to be on a individual basis.
