Golf is a good stress reliever

I found that a good hobby release stress and clear your mind.

I agree! Golf is great because it provides a gentle, yet invigorating workout (if you walk and carry your own clubs, of course), and it takes place outside, which in itself helps to release tension. The fresh air and the trees, grass, etc have a relaxing effect. I wish I was golfing right now... : )

Thanks for sharing all of your stress outlets Amber! I agree with you on cleaning. It can really take your mind off of things, and it's such a productive stress reducer too! I also benefit from this outlet and I'm sure there are other instructors out there.

Hi everyone,

I also agree that a good hobby can alleviate tension and help with stress. Some of the hobbies that I like to do to help with stress are exercising, walking, talking on the phone, or cleaning.

I know you thought, cleaning, really? I do think that cleaning can alleviate stress. At least for me, I tend not to think about anything when I am cleaning. It also helps to turn on the radio and be able to just "get away" for a little while (dance, sing, etc.). I know that this doesn't make your stress go away... But it does help to make you forget about your problems for a little while and be able to obtain some exercise and you get a clean house in the mean time. Haha.

Running and walking are also great ways to clear your mind for a bit.

I hope that you all enjoyed my post! Feel free to respond with the hobbies that you enjoy.

I used to chop and split firewood.I'd take out some frustrations on chunks of a log, get good exercise AND it was saving me money on heating fuel.

That's wonderful to hear Denise. Golf and swimming work great and are typically low impact - making them great for the long term.

I went with my husband to the driving range one day. When we arrived, I was in a really irritated mood. By the time we left, I felt great!
:)
Swimming works for me too!

Wow, thanks for sharing Ed. Yes, for some, going to the shooting range is a great way to blow off some steam.

Golf works for many people Laura. However, I like to go to the shooting range to relieve my stress. The destruction of the target is my way of relieving my stress.

Golf does the opposite for me because I'm not very good and get frustrated whether it's mini golf or a game:)
