Coping with Stress

Sometimes when I'm stressed i do tend to eat more than usual. Lots of chocolate! Which is sooo unhealthy. It causes you to gain weight for 1 and the sugar from the chocolate causes me to feel very hyper but when that sugar is gone I crash. Well I use to! i have found other ways to channel my stres and 1 way is walking/exercising.

I agree. I often turn to food during stress and I am trying to channel that nervous energy in another direction.

Yes, eating is a common coping mechanism for many people. But in excess, it has negative consequences. Walking and exercising are better in the long term.

Eating is what I use to do to forget about my stress, it didn't work. Walking and exercising is a great stress reducer, good for you!

Excellent Kurt! I'm glad you have found exercising to be helpful. Many instructors benefit from this particular coping mechanism.

I find that exercising is a great way to relieve stress in your life. It helps take your mind off of the tasks you have to complete the next day/week, and increases my overall energy levels throughout the day. I definitely notice an increase in stress levels when I skip my scheduled exercise.

Yes, your assessment of chocolate is spot on Kecia. I'm glad you have found other ways to channel your stress.
