Time Away

A person should do some type of hobby at least once a week to reduce stress.

Also during a work day you need to get away fromm the desk. More people are eating lunch at thier desk. I think this is a BAD THING. You need to get away from the work space for a bit

Finding ways to reinforce our own good behaviors is a great way to achieve our goals Estella. Everyone is different in terms of what they find rewarding but taking the long way is absolutely one for you.

I find that sometimes just the thought of a reward helps me get through the tougher parts of my day. My reward a nice quiet drive on the way home. Maybe taking the long way, no radio, no rush,just the cool breeze through the window and my thoughts.

I try to get outside at lunch time. It helps me to clear my mind to get away from my classroom.

Hobbies are a great way to relieve stress. I have a few hobbies that I can lose myself in and forget about all the stressors in my life.

Hobbies are a great way to reduce stress. Unless like me you let the hobbies take on deadlines, then you need to have a hobbie away from your hobbies. Too much of any thing good or bad is a stress creator, I work best when i change things up avery so often.

Yes, both hobbies and listening to others are great approaches that help us temporarily take a break from the stress in our lives Steven. When we return to our tasks, we do so with new energy and often can bring a fresh perspective.

I like the idea of having hobbies in ones life to reduce stress. It gets our minds away from work and usually involves interaction with others. Listening to others share their life experiences and stories takes us away from our own self interests and is an excellent way to reduce our stress.

I agree it is good to take time away from work and find something to just relax or reset your mind to something that is relaxing.

Wow, that sounds great John. You are lucky to get breaks. Many instructors don't have that luxury.

I get regular breaks and on them I don't do anything related to work. I usually find a quiet place and daydream about what I am going to do the following weekend.

It may not be the safest way to relieve stress but at times I ride a motorcycle to and from work and it is a great way to let the stress of the day disappear.

Yes, sometimes taking just a short break - awake or asleep - can make a huge difference on your productivity.

durning my lunch i do like to go shopping or go to the park or mall and just walk around it is realxing
