healthy habits
I unfortunatly have fallen away from stress relievers because I don't have time for them, being that I have over packed my life and created a lot of stress. I remember when I exercised on a daily basis, I was much less stressed out and even ate better. I can tell that I have developed health issues due to my chroniclly high stress level. It is time for me to commit to better self care and increasing my healthy habits.
I agree wholeheartedly. For me it is remembering to do the things I know I should be doing. Sometimes it is just easier to use maladaptive coping skills because they are more accessible such as caffeine or eating badly. Actually it is just a matter of changing habits. I think if I looked into my life, it would probably take a lot less time and effort to do it right such as incorporating breathing exercises and increasing water intake.
I agree Judy, i love to exercise to relieve stress. It clears my head and i can refocus.
Sounds like you have several great approaches Tammy. Thanks for sharing with the group. I like the idea of reading a magazine at a coffee shop. Makes it so easy to get away.
When I am dealing with a great amount of stress, I find that taking a short drive, reading a magazine/book at a coffee shop, attending an yoga class, or talking with a friend helps me feel better.
Stress relief for me is getting away from the stressors. If that means taking a long drive, getting away for the weekend, or shopping is a great way I release. Spending time alone is also a wonderful reliever for me, especially when the sressors in my life are caused by other people.
That's great that you find the time to exercise every day Judy. It's nice when you can develop a stress reduction routine that keeps working for you over time.
We can definitely learn from example Nicole. Watching others and learning from their mistakes can be much better than making them ourselves.
Sounds like you have a nice system in place Brian. I like the way you have learned to mix up your routine to find what works best for different seasons.
In the summer I ride bike a lot, this not only helps releave stress but, I feel much better as well. In the winter I walk.
So many people are having stokes and having to take high blood pressure meds. because of stress and diet. I really need to slow down and get it together too.
Exercising is the way I releive stress everyday.
