THe road to stress free living

Many of the instructors i have worked with brag about the fact that they never take any time off. Every once in a while i find i need a vacation day to refocus my energies in a more positive manner . I try to minimize the burden that i put on others but sometimes a day to yourself can be very refreshing.

Yes, mentally letting go is really hard Robert. For some instructors, it takes a few days to decompress before they can officially start to enjoy themselves on their vacations.

I agree. If you don't take breaks, you get sloppy and less enthusiastic about your work. What's difficult is taking time off and really mentally letting go. I often feel that taking time off can be stressful because I think about all the extra work I'll have to do when I get back!

Agreed James. I've found myself in similar situations. I think it's important to take breaks, and to take pride in the fact that you do. When you rest up, you're in a better position to help others when you return.
