Coping with stress
I did not know that stress caused so many health problems. I am a fairly emotional guy and when something bothers me,stress,I usually talk to someone about it before I make a mountain out of a mole hill.
That's a great idea Michael. Neutral settings as well as peaceful ones are great when helping people who are stressed. A walk or even just coffee or lunch can be a great setting to talk.
Good point Brian, People who bottle up feelings are in danger of elevating their stress levels. Keep in mind that when these issues are addressed make sure that the person is in a comfortable area. sometimes I will take the person on a walk in order for the background to be neutral.
A nice walk on the beak can be a great way to cope with stress. Same with spending time with yourself. This is particularly true for instructors who might be more introverted and who draw energy from separating themselves from everyone for a little while.
Sometimes it is good to talk to someone else, but I also will spend time by myself at a calm place like the lake or at the beach and just go for a walk.
That's great. Talking to others works particularly well for emotional people Brian.
