to stress or not to stress

to eliminate stress around you you must first eliminate stress from within.
stress can cloud the mind and make it hard to think clearly and act rationaly.under stress you're producing many different chimicals opsetting the proper funtioning of the brain.

understanding the process allows you to manage and filter your thoughts in order to analyse and rectify any possible outcome at the source of the problem..
the question is how well do we understand that process.

Eric, Indeed true. We must understand the sources of stress to get to the heart of our problems. When we do, solutions are often easy and within reach.

I agree with you about understanding the process of what causes stress. Whether it's caused by things happening at work or if it's coming from your personal life it can have an affect on all the things in your life. Understanding stress and what causes it helps us eliminate it so we can prevent work related stress from leaking over into our personal life or vice versa.

John, So true. Stress can absolutely help in crisis. It can drive us to do great things in difficult times. It has utility in these rare occasions.

Stess is helpfull when your life is on the line. Stress may kill you in the long run but one can not survive without it. I find it a little stessfull trying to eleminate it.

Relieving stress for the instructor and the student is important. I decrease my stress level by being organized at work plus being prepared for class and the accept that the unexpected will happen.

I try to decrease by students' stress prior to tests by having them first do a little bit of movement (exercise), tha deep breathing, followed by a "yell" . Since I started doing this my students' test grades have improved

When I was working on a very hectic project I went to a hypnotherapist and she created several tapes for me to listen to. Each tape hypnotized me to fall asleep and then woke me up feeling well rested and free of stress. Even today, I still use those tapes when I am really feeling pressured.

A little bit of stress can be useful and makes an individual productive just like the fight or flight theory.Stress enable one to release epinephrine and norepinephrine that makes one alert and focused on task however, too much stress is deadly. Balance in all aspects of one's being is important to survive and become productive member of the community.

Great point Laurent. Stress can often come from within. A stressful state of mind can make any environment stressful. Light breathing, stretching and other coping techniques can really help you center yourself.
