When stress starts to get a grip you need to be able to notice the signs and take a mental break.
As a practioner of numerous martial arts we are taught to notice situations and deal with them.
When you notice stress you don't even have to stop what your doing to take a mental break.
Breathing is a good start, having a trigger to start a quick relaxation period. The relaxation period doesn't have to last that long, just long enough to take the tension away.
Thanks for this suggestion. I often accept the warning signs so readily, they become the "norm" for me. I have to learn to stop and listen to the warning signs.
Yes, taking a step back on your problems can help tremendously Christine. Your first reaction is not always your best reaction. We must keep this in mind, especially in emotional situations in which it's easy to forget!
Thanks for this. I will work at becoming aware of when getting stress. I A quick mental break can fit in just about anywhere and in any situation. Often we don't think about just a quick action as being effective.

All true Lauren. For many instructors, detecting the early warning signs can be tough. Trying to detect things early though can prevent a lot of problems in the future.
