Stress Eliminators

When I'm stressed I like to take atleast 30 minutes of the day to eliminate stres. Walking, excersice, and quiet time. That helps me refocus and get back on track.

Corey, That's a great question. Sometimes coping mechanisms - like exercise - don't help with everything. Sometimes, you need to get to the root of the stressful problem to fully overcome it.

What is you already exercise and are still stressed? More? Longer times?

Watching TV at night can "keep you up" as well.

This is a good idea because you essentially are making "YOU TIME" before anyone or anything can take this away!

I also like to run early in the morning and then I go back to bed:) I also find that reading a book at night helps me fall asleep quicker. The TV shows always have reruns.

Yes, the morning is a wonderful time to reflect. We are often feeling peaceful and calm. Others may not yet be awake so we can really have some alone time to think.

I think it is a great approach to take time each day to reflect and have a few quiet moments. I prefer to run early in the am when it is peaceful and the day is just beginning.

David, It's important to reflect on what's working and what's not working for you. Ultimately, everyone is different. I hear what you are saying about actions and reactions. Sometimes we can be proactive. Other times, we've got to roll with it.

I thought that the stress handling tips are useful but I this is my 2 cents. I have learned through the years that there are only 2 things that I can control. My actions and my reactions and that external conditions can only become stressful if I let them. I do my best and chose the best path for me then when life's traffic jams come I put on Frank kick back and sing along.

Tara, What a wonderful approach. It's nice to hear that you are able to take so much time each day. Some instructors have absolutely no window of opportunity for activities like these. Use it when you have it for sure!
