Creation to cope
I find that creation is a great stress reliever. Whether its pounding a candelabra out of wrought iron or laying flagstones for a garden pathway. The sense of control can be relieving in a sometimes out of control world.
I also agree! I find that making time regularly throughout the week to create or be creative (like writing) is helpful. I do still struggle to make this time happen every week because the only time I have for it is often at the end of a day where I'm tired and would rather turn off my brain than attempt to re-engage it. Besides just making it a habit, any suggestions?
I agree as well. Once every few terms, I spend a weekend doing sculpture and find this to be a great stress reliever.
I would have to wholeheartedly agree with this. Making something beautiful from raw materials can give ones self a tremendous sense of satisfaction. Watching the materials transform in front of your eyes because you have manipulated it with your own two hands can do wonders for the spirit. Whether it be wrought iron, paint, pencil, or even crayon if I fancy, I can find some sort of stress relief in creating.
