It Doesn't Take Long

If I hit a wall of stress during a long teach day, I will go into the faculty lounge and sit quietly for a few moments or stretching my shoulders and legs a bit. Just a few minutes where I am in control of my body will take that edge off.

We have a recliner with a message pad in it right by the window in our lounge. If someone is in it with their eyes closed, we let them have their space.

Christina, Excellent to hear you have such an easy outlet for coping with stress. Sunshine can be a powerful healer and can absolutely change our mood. Our bodies produce vitamins in the light and we get fresh air from being outside too. If you have the opportunity, you might consider asking for an office or workspace with a window.

Dr. Melissa Read

I do the same. Sometimes my whole attitude will change if I just step outside alone for a few minutes and feel the warm sun. It re-energizes me and feels almost as though the sun shot a burst of energy into my body :)
