Exercise has definitely been a huge help with stress in my life. I've been eating better and just trying to keep a positive outlook on life in general. I will keep the mood light-hearted within the group with humor and good-natured fun.
I will begin to share with my family members that will give sound advise.
I will use the technique that I have always used. I mediate on a daily basis.

I always ride my bike or do my hula hoop. This is great fun and it helps me forget about my stress. I like talking to co workers about stress they always have good ideas too.
Jaclyn, Exercise works great for many people. Go ahead and give it a try. You can start small. No need to go full into a strenuous routine all at once. You can ease your way into it.

Hello Dr. Melissa
Certainly there are many stressors we can not eliminate or reduce, in my particular case, I usually do exercises, or some activity of my pleasure to reduce my stress, often try to sleep enough, I find hard to share, but I've learned here that can also help, but the breathing exercises and stretching really work on me.

adequate rest for at least 6 hrs a day plays a big role for me.I feel refreshed.
I will try to exercise more. In addition I will make a list of all my stressor s and try the exercise in the course to reduce or eliminate the ones I can.
Bill, Yes, that's the target we are all driving toward. To do lists definitely make that goal more attainable. Sometimes, there is no avoiding stressful situations. But these lists really help because they give us a sense of greater control when everything is on paper.

Rasiel, Aerobics sound like they are really working for you. What's wonderful is the way we can do them at home. There are some great DVDs out there for that. Finding a local gym with an aerobics class is another great outlet.

I try to do aerobics with music 1 hour daily, do breathing exercises often use self-relaxation techniques in the day, and look for possible solutions that take me out of the place where I feel stressed.
Like a to-do list, the idea of a de-stressor list seems a good one. Seeing my stressors, and likely adding more as time goes on, seems in itself a positive step. And I like the notion of both reducing AND eliminating. The ideal of a flexible, low-stress life is an inspiring target to go toward using such a list.
I need to teach the important people in my life, my family, that when I talk to them about my stressors, I just need an ear. I do not need them to fix anything. I also need to take more time out for myself without feeling selfish. I need to take better care of me so I can be the best at what I love to do.
Just taking deep breaths is what usually helps me out when I'm all stressed out. Even just taking a walk to get you're mind of things helps out.
I have practiced martial arts for 13 years and has taught me that just by taking a few minutes out your busy schedule and go outside and deep breath for 3-5 minutes will change your whole mental outlook.
Balance. From what I have learned in this course, I think the best way to reduce stress that cannot be eliminated is to balance your time more effectively. The topic on e-mail, and not having to reply immediately. On commuting, I'll bring my favorite music with me. Working from home more often to eliminate distractions at work. Most importantly, instead of working for long periods of time on one project, split it up into manageable portions. If and when I feel the pressure, it's time to take a break and go for a walk.
I tend to not entirely forget about my stressors, but do try not to think about them too much. To use the techniques I have learned for future stress, I will consider taking a few seconds to just breathe. I would find useful to write down my stressors and seek someones advice for those more difficult stressors.
Dawn, Wow, what a find! Sometimes we have to invest a little time searching for the right solution. This is a perfect example. The search can be frustrating and a little time consuming, but the end result can be great as I imagine you are now experiencing with that affordable gym!
