Psychomotor Learning Activities
I like the idea of a group activity that promotes team work. Most classes have an array of students from various backgrounds. It is important that while they are in school, they learn the valuable lesson of working with others towards a common goal, regardless of the differences they may have between them. It is a key element for a successful career.
Hi Margaret,
There are going to be a few coworkers that you do not have anything in common with, but you still need to have a good working relationship.

It is good practice modeling for how to have teamwork in the workplace, even if you don't particularly have anything in common with your co-workers.
I find most students - especially in night classes- are more than happy to get up out of their chairs for scavenger hunts, model buiding, human models, etc.
In my classes I use group activity almost daily. At the end of class groups can compare and contrast the differences in their production while using the same basic instructions to find out how interpretation can affect final outcomes. I will finally give my input as to which might be closest to what I would determine as the best-this may have been done initially in terms of a demonstration.
Hi Adrian,
Students typically enjoy working in a group setting. I love to see how students interact with each other during this type of environment, and I also get so excited when they put their brains to work to problem solve. I encourage active learning.

I try to utilize group activities whenever I can in the course. It seems to help them build teamwork as well as create effective communication with one another.
Hi Chastity,
Absolutely! There may be times at work when the student will have to engage in a group project. They must learn how to work as a team and pull their share part of the weight.
