Showing examples at all times

When class commences, it is the responsibility of the Chef Instructor to provide guidance via cooking demos or assignment examples so students have a point of reference to judge their work from.

I like to show several examples for students as this gives them ideas and a distinct guideline to what my expectations are in the lab and academic classroom.

Hi Matthew,
Students can become easily frustrated, therefore as educators we need to try to put things in plain terms for them so that they can do well. A frustrated student is not a good thing to have. Frustration can possibly lead to quitting.
Patricia

I find examples invaluble to the adult student, if you put tasks or workstations to students without proper examples of what's expected of them, I find that the students will put up a wall of frustration at times. This will block the learning process, and will take less labor in the long run too.

Hi Matthew,
What are your thoughts about showing students examples for projects/assignments?
Patricia

I find the demonstration of a work station to invaluble for avoiding the "train wreck" in the class. something getting broken etc.

Thanks for your positive response.

Hi Mariann,
I like how you allow the student to share with others how he or she obtained success. Students like to hear testimonies from other students; it is so inspiring.
Patricia

I am a nursing instructor. Students usually have problems writing nursing care plans. I save the really good ones previous students have completeed and show it to my new group of students so they know what I am looking for.
Also if one student in a group performs an excellent NCP ,I allow them to explain how they arrived at their success.
