Show example of work
I believe in showing example to the students. My rationale is because the is a hands on technique.
By showing students what you are looking for in a particular situation, I believe they would have a better understanding of what the outcome is expected. As a result, this will increase productivelty in the class.

I agree examples are wonderful and can demo. which sometimes as the saying goes are worth a thousand words.

I only see positives in sharing examples with students. Visuals really put things in perspective for students. Students appreciate being shown examples.

I think showing examples is very helpful and informative to students studying in any discipline. But it is especially helpful in many higher level computer courses, particularly networking, server management, web development, and e-commerce classes. With internet access usually being available, the ability to show examples is almost unlimited.
I could not agree more with you about examples. I have initiated several student projects and am undertaking myself the fabrication of a series of workmanship samples showing process steps. We have finished pieces which attract the attention of new students, but I expect that examples of process steps shown in tangible form will motivate as well as instruct.
