syllabus
should be clear and to the point
My students are always grateful when I produce a clear and concise syllabus.
I feel I write a good syllabus but sometimes I have to make changes at the end because of new items coming up or topics that had to be slowed down for better comprehension by the class. Is this a problem?
This time is well spent. Clarifying the expectations and reasons for those expectations will pay off in student compliance every time.
It iS paramont to have a clear syllabus, this will give students what is needed and expected to complete the course. I always spend time in going over the course descriptions, prerequisites, course objectives, homework, etc. This will help students get started and help them get organized prior to the course or module.
The syllabus should clarify what a student will know and do when they complete the course.
