Setting up specific class activities that, if missed, affects the student's grade has been a great way for me to get across the importance of maintaining good attendance. They miss key training activities when they are absent that may have been presented in such a way as to trigger that one thought that will help a student remember a skill or key point that will be beneficial in the work place. Sometimes the attendance concept just does not sink in without a direct consequence.

Attendance is of the utmost importance to employers. I've never had a prospective employer to ask about a student's GPA, but I always have prospective employers to ask about attendance.

Good attendance for most students is crucial for learning the material. If the students are absent from class they are missing important discussion and intrations. This is in addition to positive habits developed so they will be ready to enter the workplace.

I must agree with your response pertaining to attendance. I have found that the majority of my students who do well in my classes have great attendance. In addition, I have found that these students are normally the individuals that obtain permanent positions, while externing.

You are absolutely correct! A student's school attendance record is indicative of their work attendance record, good or bad.

A perfect attendance not only reflects student's interest to the subject but also, a student who has perfect attendance,does not miss the materials and will get better outcome.
I totally agree. I emphasize to students that they are practicing to be in the work force. Attendance is key to success. I inform them and remind them throughout the semester that the workforce is extremely competitive. Employers are looking for dependability and commitment. Constantly making excuses and failure to report will quickly result in termination. This unfavorable track record will also follow an individual throughout their career life.
