syllabus vs calendar
are both required?
I think having both is a great idea. A syllabus is a must. Having a calander as well will give the students something to follow which puts them at ease and also will alleveate some of the questions they may have for you.
I don't do a calendar because the syllabus contains a topic guide by week which also includes the due date. We always have a holiday in play that must be made up so we just work by week numbers.

I also include a whats due list at the top of each page of the lesson plan. The lesson plan is also handed out at the start of a new term with the syllabus.
I also agee that both are required because a syllabus shows overview and calendar shows specific due dates o assignments
I believe both are necessary as the syllabus is vvery improtant but always subject to change

Only the syllabus is required, however a calendar is very helpful to the students. Students have no excuse because they know exactly when assignments, projects, tests, etc. are due.
