Showing examples of student work
I have asked former students for permission to show future classes their completed term papers. The new class was very impressed with some of the work showed. This practice helped to eliviate some stress for new students who have never done a term or it has been a long time since high school.

He is a visual learner. He needs to see it in order to understand what is to be done. You want him to succeed, therefore you share with him what he needs for clarity.

I have one student that has a hard time until he can see an example or hear what all of the other students are doing. I saw his hesitation to start a project during his first term and now come prepared every time with plenty of examples to alleviate the anxiety cause him.
That is a very good idea Bill. Showing examples from past students, shows the new students that it is possible to complete the work.
Examples are always good.
