Showing examples

For adult learner show examples are a easy way in helping an adult learner learn.

Having worked in the health field for numerious years I believe that practical examples are critical for the student to understand the complexity of the industry.

Hi Carol,
A lot of students are visual, and they get it when they can see an example.

Hi Rachael,
Some adult students do over think things, but when you can show an example, the example adds clarity. A lot of the tension is eased when examples are shown.
Patricia

By showing examples it help the adult learn to ID, with the subject.

I also agree that showing examples help adult learners. Many adult learners may have been out of the educational loop for many years and what they're reading may not really set in until they're shown. It also lets the adult learner see that the many "procedural step break downs" aren't as complicated and time consuming as they may have believed it to be while reading. Do you think many adult learners want to be so precise they over think things?

I feel that it is of great importance to show real-world examples when you are discussing cases and such in class. I teach phlebotomy and other associated courses at my institution, and I tend to use a lot of "war stories" in my lectures. I feel that it helps the students to visualize what I am talking about, and this is important if they are not familiar with the topic under discussion.

Hi Carol,
Students are more ready to start the activity because they know exactly what is expected due to seeing a visual.
Patricia

I agree by showing examples helps students gets and form an ideal of what is expected.

By showing examples, the students get a better idea of what is expected and are better able to plan projects, etc...
