syllabus

I beleive that it is extremely important to make sure that the syllabus is written in such a way that is free of any words that could misinterpreted, so that all individuals would have no problems with understanding. As it serves as the manual for that course. Being able to understand it will be less stress on the professor.

The syllabus is The Big Picture and The Bottom Line as far as class operation. Not only does it tell students what to expect from the instructor's perspective, but it needs to be approved by administration. This links accountability all the way from the student through us to those WE respond to.

The course syllabus is, in effect, the instructor's contract with the student. The learning outcomes, course content and expectations should be clear and relevant.

Hi Melanie,
I concur! The syllabus adds great clarity as to what is expected of students.

Patricia Scales

I agree the syllabus is a reference point for the student sand needs to be very clear. Students rely on this to help them throughout the course.
