Late Assignments

I have only one student in my course and for the most part he turns in all his assignment by the due dates. So, when I cancel class for a funeral and the assignment was submit late via internet. Should I still mark his grade?

Hi Angela,
This policy seems to work well and most students do appreciate it when they need to use it. I do not have many students that take advantage of the policy. Most of my students are very timely with their work.

I too agree Patricia.I always give 10%off for each day late up to a week then they get a 0,my students know this, and always apolegize for late work and state they know they will get points off but at least will get some thing.

I do agree with that too Patricia. If you have an assignment due then it should be turned in when it is due no matter what circumstances come up. If they turn it in late I would deduct some points off of it. When you are out in the real world and you have deadlines, your boss will find someone else to do the job better if you cant produce what your boss want. So, its no different in school when you have an assignment and its due by a specific date that is when it is turned in.

Hi Sherria,
Yes because he still needs to be held accountable for meeting his deadlines, regardless to what venue he uses to turn it in.
