I am a massage therapy instructor at a health care college. We are very in depth in the anatomy courses to meet the criteria that the college demands. How do I help the students realize the relevance of in depth anatomy training that might not actually help them reach their career goals?

Hello, I teach in a Phlebotomy program which also requires a pretty comprehensive Human Anatomy course that I teach. I run into these same questions, as the students believe they enrolled for a very specific type or focus of education. What helps me the most when answering the "why are we learning about this questions" is bringing the student back to the focus of the complete human being who is being treated. The same way that veins don't walk in to be stuck for venipuncture in phlebotomy, your students will be helping in the therapy of the complete person.
