Expectations vs Requirements
So often with students if the foundation for expectations and requirements aren't discussed on day one, this can cause a problem. I've found that by informing my students on what's expected and required of them with no room for excuses is both benefical to me and to them.
I agree with you. On day one I tell them what they can expect from me and what I expect from them. The majority of my students think I am a "B" and very strict, but by the end of the course they know I really care and my expectations are for a reason... to get them ready for the real world (work).
Hi Monica,
We have to set the bar high for our students. If we let them get away with murder, they will take full advantage of us. They will think they can behave the same way in the professional world.
