Student Incentives for Learning
We use "Beauty Bucks" as incentives for students to arrive on time, prepared and dressed professionally...At the end of the quarter we hold an auction and the students bid on items used in their profession...Those with the most "bucks" have the ability to "win" more items...
Hi Brenda,
I feel students should be awarded for doing well. Incentives give students something to work toward!

I feel that incentives are great It's amazing when the students tell you the incentives they recieved for out standing work and achievments. even I like giving incentives It's a great tool to keep the students motivated.
While I have great respect for your incentive program, there is something about having to reward adult students for engaging in their learning process that annoys me. I feel that it is my responsibility to treat them in a manner that is consistent with the business world, to help prepare them for their future. I’m having a hard time finding a balance between coaxing them along and leaving it up to them to manage themselves in an adult manner. Any suggestions on where the line is?
Hi Tawanda,
Let me tell you about an incentive at my school for students. If a student gets perfect attendance for a module, the student gets to draw for various gift cards($5-$60).

Hello Judi. Wow, this is an awesome incentive idea! I like it so much that I'm going to try and get it approved and implemented about my school. This is an awesome incentive because it gives them a connection to the "real world" and their respective professions. It also provides the with motivation to continue to come to class prepared, dressed professionally, and on time. I know that many of them will only be participating just to earn "stuff" but it all pays off in end for the student. Some of the are unknowingly preparing for the professional career. Cool incentive!
