it makes the career of choice for students clearer for them if there are guest speakers or observations at a facility like a hospital so they can see what the job truely requires
Guest speakers/site visitation are great choices for the students to keep their motivation. Hands on are the majority of our students.
We love guest speakers coming to the school. They always bring the latest updates of what is happening in the field. Both students and instructor benefits from these speakers.
I like to take my students to the hospital where I work, introduce them to my colleagues, and have them ask them questions about the site. Students come into the classroom the next day talking about their experiences on the site.

Graduate guest speakers are the absolute best! They serve as great inspiration to current students. Students have an even higher level of interest whenever the guest speaker is a graduate of their school.

A site visit certainly makes theory real. Students need their energy level heightened from time to time.

Site/Facility visit really gives students a visual of them completing the course and working in that environment. It renews their interest and drive in the class. I always see a spike for the next few weeks following a site visit
For the first time this MOD I will go on a field trip and take my students to the hospital I use to work for . I hope this works out , I feel that would be a great way to motivate them and let them experience the different settings in the medical field and how team work is a MUST !!! Every dept. works along side with each other to make a whole.
I feel that inviting former students to speak with classes would be an invaluable asset. It would give current students an insight as to what to expect in the future.
