Working with different students
Be willing to adapt to a new environment.
Hi April,
Every student is different. It is important for the instructor to get to know every student in their class in order to determine how the student learns best. Once it has been determined how the student learns best, spend time with the student outside of class to bring the student up to speed.

I agree this has been helpful. I am ready to try some of the strategies next term. I try to teach using as many different methods as the topic allows. My favorite courses to teach are the ones that involve student sharing--Ethics and Psychology. Hearing views and being able to share their views seems to make everyone "buy in". I also encourage student sharing in my computer courses. In those courses they provide tips, shortcuts, and different uses for the programs. It is sometimes a little more difficult to keep everyone on track but it is worth it. I am looking forward to using the strategies to get everyone involved in a productive manner.
I think this has been helpful when dealing with Different students. As expressed in a earlier training, students learn differently, as well as being able to accept the student as being an individual, and to work with our students in a variety of ways to capture learning. All of our students don't fit in a specific box, so there may be times when we as the instructors need to think like the student or step out of the box as a way to reach our students to asure they are learning.
