Guest Speakers
I think having guest speakers come into the classroom is an excellent way to keep students motivated and interested in the course content. It allows students to ask questions and see the various paths their career can take once they are done with school.
Guest Speakers are excellent especially in our Business courses and they are potential employers. The students are attentive and always have questions to ask. Recent graduates can give them fedback on what to expect once they graduate and pursueing their desired careers.
Guest speakers definitely impress students and seem to encourage students to work a little harder in the class, at least for a little while. The best guest speakers are the ones that can communicate their knowledge to the class and provide real-life scenarios that relate to the class materials. It is therefore very important to provide the guest speaker an understanding of the topic as it relates to the class that she/he is to speak about.
I think guest speakers are always great to help motivate students....especially if it's a past student that has graduated and gone on to further their education.This gives a student encouragement to let them know, they can do the same thing....grow in their career choice.
