I could not agree more. Quite honestly some of my most memorable courses that I took throughout my college career have been ones where the professor brought in guest speakers to emphasize the importance and relevance of the course material.

Absolutely! For the past two semesters I have had my students create a "mini-magazine as part of their Preparatory Keyboarding course requirement. The philosophy behind this requirement is that my students realize how important proficiency in keyboarding is in different career fields. The guest speaker I bring to the classroom is a sales marketing executive for a local magazine publisher who emphasizes the importance of a wide variety of career skills including keyboarding. This gentleman is a consummate professional with a genuine concern for the success of our students and the students thoroughly enjoy the advice that he gives during their conversations with him.
