Attention
It is hard to teach someone who is repeating a class and thinks they know everything. How would you address that person?
Sometimes I try not to ask questions to that particular student if I remember that he knows the answer. I might ask him something he had trouble with in the past.
Hi Michelle,
The best method is to ask every student questions so that no one feels left out.

Sometimes asking a repeat student questions appears as favortism towards the other students. I often presenttheses more questions to the students who are having a difficult time with their grades in an effort to help them stretch themselves to think a little harder. This can sometimes be a tricky situation because if you do not ask questions, they feel you don't like them. If you do ask questions they say you have favorites. However, having them participate in some peer educating or board work tends to help to some degree.
I would address alot of my questions towards that particular student becuase they should know the answer. I would also ask that student to offer their assistance to other students who are having a hard time picking up on the material.
