Clickers in the classroom

one way to ensure students are paying attention and staying on task is to implement a clicker system in the classroom where students will be required to participate by answering questions during the course of the lecture. This becomes part of a participation grade and also motivates them to pay attention to potential exam questions for the future.

This strategy was used when I was in school. The instructor would pose a question and using our clickers, we would answer (A, B, C, etc). The class results would be displayed and then a discussion would ensue concerning why each answer was chosen.

Hi Debbie,
Sounds like a super idea. Great attention grabber.

Hi;
I think clickers in the classroom or in the lab work great. Great way for instant feedback and to keep students engaged.

i like that idea, because as we know alot of students this day & age try & do as little as possible

Hi Vicki,
Absolutely! In each course I teach my students have a 5% participation grade. This grade motivates them to participate.
