Difficult Students

I look for ways to turn their desire for negative attention into positive attention.

Hi Darnell,
I love your perspective! I can tell you want to make a positive difference in your students' lives. We have some students that are certainly diamonds in the rough, and we just have to get them to become that precious jewel!

In my years of teaching I have found that some of the most difficult students are those who have had troubled backgrounds. We should never lose patience with a student; most students are willing to cooperate when there is some structure in their lives. We as educators are the key components to getting those “unruly” students on a better path.

Hi Amir,
I concur! Listening is key! Sometimes students simply just want to be heard because they need to vent for whatever reason.

listening to them, making sure they follow guidelines, and accountability are good ways to deal with difficult students.

Give them support and guidance!!!!
