Reaching all learning styles
Today's educational setting requires instructors develop an understanding of all learning styles in ways that allow identification of
different strengths, intelligences, and approaches
to learning.
With my experience so far, sometimes is very difficult to reach all learning styles. I tried to approach my students as many times I can and watch out for every individual needs as time allowed me to do it. Sometimes I sit down with them and let them talk and get energy out {stress out} and that way I could canalize their knowledge and skills without any problem.
It sometimes seems impossible to reach all teaching styles. With my experience I have learned that it is a good idea to create a lesson that is open for everyone learning style. I am a strong believer of this approach. I like to create lectures to serve my auditory viewers and visual learners. For my hands on group I have them apply their knowledge. For example today I have my students apply the scientific method. They were able to grasp the material with confidence. It is impossible to reach all students.
That sounds great, if you have a copy of that learning style evaluation tool, I would love a copy. Because unless a student informs you of their learning style, it may be the end of the course before I have figured it out.
Hi Angela,
We have a seminar that brand new students take in week 1 and this is first activity (Learning Style Test) we do with every brand new student so that we can know up front how they best learn.

One of my first assignments allowing students to identify their learning styles, if they haven't already.
We identify learning styles on the very first day of school and used to group students in lab so they would not be with all one type. This was amazing and worked extreemly well. Now we can't share this information due to their right to privacy.
