Interacting with students
Why is it important to have interaction with every student?
Interacting with every student creates a connection that can produce a variety of positive results. It can engage a shy or at-risk student, it can help establish trust between the student and teacher, it can increase a student's accountability and will encourage attendance, minimize cheating and open a rapport allowing for effective learning as well as problem resolution or elimination.
I try to have positive interactions with each one my students. I feel that this helps them to realize that they are important to me and that I am comitted to their success in the program.
To let them know you care about their future.
I try to interact with students who are on the fringe to let them know they matter and I am truly interested in them and what they have to say.
Hi Markita,
You are on point! We need to make our students feel as though they really matter. Everyone likes feeling important.

I feel that is important to interact with each student because each student's education and progress in the class is important. if you do not interact with each student, how will you know the student's questions, concerns, or needs. Students also want to feel as if they matter.
I have always tried to get into class early so I can talk with my students one on one not only about what is going on within the class but to get a good repot with them one-on-one. I get to know the student as an individual and in some situations the student feels comfortable to talk with you when you ask questions about family or things they are interested in. I have found this method very helpful in the class room. I also find myself walking through out the class room when I am lecturing which also gives me the opportunity to have eye contact with the class at all times.
It is important to understand each and every student's way of learning. This will teach you different techniques to lecture on material.
Hi Hugh,
Students love it when you interact with them. Students like to know that we are personable.

By interacting with each student you are letting the student know that you are aware of them and have their sucess in mind.
All the students in your class are your clients and seek the mentoring of your experience and skill. They will hopefully build on this, and use that as a foundation for their future learning.
I like to interact with my student. Knowing that I'm physician, former Radiologist, Health Inspector they have genuine interest and endless questions! This interaction motivate, inspire them to become medical practioner and embark in such grateful journey!
As an Instructor, I try to interact with every student, this helps them to feel relax and helps with motivation....
It is so very important to interact with each student, I feel it allows them to know you care about their education.
I try to interact with each student praising them on their accomplishments, and pointing out the silver lining so to speak, instead of just pointing out their mistakes. This seems to motivate them to work harder and boost their self esteem.
Interacting with each student will help to create the individual rapport with each student. The students will begin to see that the instructor is genuinely invested in their success. This will hopefully help them to participate in class and work harder at assignments.
Question: Aside from having a checklist of students and marking down interactions with each student, are there any other ways to easily track this to make sure an instructor is interacting with each student?
Hi Roxsie,
I love your perspective! I can tell you care about all of your students. Continue to be a caring instructor, and you will continue to change many lives for the better!

Each and every student is important and they all need to know that the instructor cares about all of the students in the class. By interacting with every student the instructor sets a good example for students to follow.
interacting with your students allows for open two-way communication that could limit future problems.
