Preparing multiple test
To reduce cheating, instructors must use a test bank which often comes with the instructors materials. Distribute alternate test to students therefore the person siting next to you has a different version of the same test questions. Explain this to students so they know the person sitting next to them has a different test. Same material but questions scrambled.

Most test creation software programs allow instructors to easily create multiple versions of tests. If you don’t want to use multiple tests having these programs mix-up the order of questions can also reduce cheating on tests.
Why would it be necessary to explain to students that the person sitting next to them has a different version of the test?
Having mutliple tests is a clear statement and takes away the option of cheating. With this method in place, there isn't a liklehood of occurance, hence the environment is more conducive to respectful behavior.
