reduce student cheating
try to have student not to close to one another.have different questions on the test will reduce chances of cheating
Hi Barbara,
You're right! The problem does resolve itself. I've experienced this with some of my student. The student fails regardless.
Patricia
Giving different versions of a test without telling the students you are doing so also eliminates the need confront a cheating student. If they get their answers from someone with a different test, they fail (usually with a very low grade). The problem takes care of itself.
Yes space and different quiz will reduce the chance of cheating.I have encounter the same scenario in the past, and some colleagues gave me that suggestion, it works.
I tell the students that on test day, they will have to pick out their work space from numbers out of a hat. This way it is luck of the draw, where they turn out working. More often than not,the students that I need to watch will have the work stations nearest to me table and the most visible.
I love it when Karma works to show the students that there is an order to situations in life.
Aloha!
On test day I assign my students seats. I make them do the written and any practical work in those spaces. I try to get them out of their comfort zone.....Keep them away from their friends.
Hi Mike,
I've experienced that you can fully prepare students and some will still attempt to cheat, however, I have discovered that most will not cheat, if they feel they have been fully prepared.
Patricia
I use both methods, and i feel preparing your students will give them more confidence and wont feel the need to cheat.
Hi Farid,
Absolutely, spacing has a lot to do with whether a student cheats or not, and also having various versions of test will minimize cheating.
