manage student discusion

when managing a discusion with angrey students i think that you should listen and explain to the student about respecting one another and how not to voice an opinion in anger but to voice it in a humble and calm way so the opion can best be heard an understood.

Hi Jennifer,
I never do a group setting whenever angry students are involved. Students will make a lot more noise in front of their peers versus being alone. I do the same thing; I isolate the angry student from everyone.

one angry student is much more easily controlled than the mob getting angry...how do you diffuse that once it's happened? As a program director, I typically pull each student out to speak to them individually to find out what the root of the problem is exactly asking for specific behaviors or statements made. Any other hints?

Managing student discussions is a challenge, but you must allow the student to express themselves and learn from each other.
