Angry behavior
Sometimes one students behavior can change the whole classes behavior.
Hi David,
You need to always be extremely cautious with an angry student. Just remember, never put yourself in harms way.
Patricia
Yes, when inviting the angry student to separate from the class, don't be reluctant to alert another staff memeber. It is not an admission of failure to handle the situation, and it could escalate.
I have had to deal with an angry student. You get them away from the others and then have a conference with them. You listen to the issue and then try to offer an alternative, you try to redirect the anger.
Hi Connie,
I would suggest that you first hear the student out, and if you feel there is a need to get others involved, then do so.
Patricia
I totally agree! I try to immediately have the disruptive student step out of the class and I find another instructor or my D.O.E. or Program Director to assist me and be a second set of ears so that the issue at hand can not be misconstrued or blown out of context.
