Reducing cheating in the classroom
I am always giving my attention while the nstudents are atking a test.So they know I am watching closely and not paying attention to what is going on during the test. For me that is the best way..not giving them a chance to cheat
Hi Judith,
I concur! During test time the instructor should not be doing anything else other than monitoring the students to help minimize cheating.

Hi Lydia,
I concur! We have to let our students know that we are attentive, and we are watching their every move during test time to help minimize cheating.

Totally agree that we should be totally available while they are testing .Some will try to ask a question expecting from us to give them the answer.I just guide them to the process of thinking to get the right answer..Love it when I see the light bulb turning on and them getting the right answer on their own.Priceless!!!!!.When they know the teacher is attentive to what is going own during test ,and is responsive to any doubts/confussions they might have ,there is no need to cheat.
Yes! The students must have our undivided attention while the testing is taking place. They know you take it seriously and this gives most of them the feeling that what they do matters. Integrity is a huge issue and testing is certainly no exception in getting this point across.
My students know I am always aware of what is going on in the classroom at all times, specially during testing , so I have been fortunate up until now. I did have in onew instance students chamging answers after the tests were graded ,so now I circle the wrong answer in color and write the correct answer by the side making it impossible to change answers.
I start out in the back of the classroom for the 1st 15 min then sit in front of the class and collecting their test when they are finished
I actually agree. Giving them no opportunity to cheat is a good thing. Thats why I do all of my tests more project based. It forces them to do their own work.
