student complaints
Addressing the students complaints could minimize the same complaints from other students in the future.
I have found this doesn't always work in my school because we get new students every 5 weeks. I feel that if upper management took in the suggestions from the instuctors as far as communication and such goes and what the students are being told upon entry into the programs this school offers, that would get rid of so many of the complaints that are always the same.
It is important to address student complaints as soon as possible. Students like to know that their concerns are illegimate and they can be resolved.
I agree if we ignore the complaint, we just make that student think we don't care and they will become resentful
In our class since there are quite a few younger students the complaints from others is that there is to much talking and cannot concentrate on the lecture.
I then make a general announcement to the entire class about the talking and make suggestions like if they need to ask questions, raise their hands so everyone will benefit. Also I constantly remind them that others cannot hear or concentrate with destractions and to leave the room if there is an emergent need.
Its like your kids you gotta stop the behaviors by giving them options when possible
The question may be the same from one student to another, however the answer could differ from one to another.
This can only work sometimes though. I had a class where the same problem kept coming up and we had little to do about it. Till we could suddenly change the problem, but we have now created a new one.
Hi Luis,
We should never ignore students complaints, addressing them is the best thing to do so that students know that we are listening to them.
