Angry students
Can be very frustrating. I is important to hear them out and really talk with them to see where they are coming from, and then to attempt to re engage them in the class.
the course says that angry students are almost always male, but I have not found that to be the case at all. I have had plenty of "chip on their shoulder" female students who roll their eyes and mutter under their breath in class.
ONCE AGAIN,WE AS A HIGHER LEARNING INSTITUTION, MUST EXIST IN ORDER TO ASSIST OUR CUSTOMERS, THE "STUDENT". AND MEET THEIR EMOTIONAL NEEDS SO THAT THEY SUCCEED HERE AT SCHOOL AND THE LEARNING(CLINICAL) ENVIROMENT.
Hi Terry,
You are right! Listening is key. Let the angry person talk without any interruptions.

hearing out and listening to anyone who is angry be it a student or a non student usually usually diffuses their anger and calms a situation
I noticed that sarcasm and silence = anger in some students. This helps me to identify anger especially in females who are less likely to be confrontational about it.
