Cheating Student
I like advice that was given for the cheating student. It is good to develop a rapport with the student because they may feel you are watching them. I also like the idea of walking around a class to make a cheater feel unconfotable. I feel that test should be change from one class to another so that students can not pass a test to there friend test should be changed often. Cheating is not fair to the students that study.
Cheating students always try to find an opportunity to cheat. By changing the seating arrangements, providing different colored tests or different version of the same test will prevent some cheating. It is critical to implement consequences for cheating.
Both are good I also have the advantage of smaller class sizes so I can hand out several versions of the same test.I am also able to have more one on one time with my students so they can come for tutoring as needed which cuts back on the cheating.
Agreed. I also like the feedback that perhaps you should not have ONE test where too much % of the grade is calculated. I have found that the higher the value of the test, the more likely the unprepared students try to cheat....This is why I offer multiple tests throughout the period with equal value. And I spread the students out - so as not to give wandering eyes an open range. I feel this is just one more way to set students up for success.
