How to deal with an angry student

Speak with the student, listen to the student and try to help the student on anything that he has a concern, maybe he is not understanding the concept of the class or assignments and maybe he or she has a full time job and don't have time to study. Find out what is making the student to be angry.

Listening to angry student and taking notes seems to be the best route I've taken.

Hi Marilou,
Listening is key! Sometimes the students just want to be listened to. We should listen without interruptions. Things can become calmer by listening.

For students that are angry, you need to listen to what they have to say and it turns out that they are just venting and the they feel better afterwards and not angry. It's the perception till you hear and listen what they have to say.

Hi Maria,
Listening is key! Students sometimes just want to be heard. They too need to vent. Let the student fully express themselves without any interruption. This tactic is a great calming practice for the student.
