How does monitoring help you with class management?

Charles,
Monitoring helps the class and the future content delivery. If it seems like for a particular subject matter, students tend to be disengaged. Then a different approach can be selected to ensure that the students are active participants of the class material. Monitoring helps to track the students that may have a question, and may not want to ask the question so that the entire class can hear the question. I find monitoring to be integral to understanding the pace of the class , and any changes that need to be made for comprehension.

Hi Taisa,
An instructor must have classroom control so that the class can run effectively. Even adult learners need rules and structure.

I definitely agree Charles. Monitoring acts as a reminder to the students that they will be held accountable for their behavior good or bad. Having that "instant feedback" to reinforce good behavior or correct bad behavior is important.

Monitoring helps you reinforce your role as the leader and this sends a clear message to students as to who is in control.
