Instuctor Respect
When meeting my classes for the first time. I start my introduction whith the fact that I was a former student where I now instruct, and share a breif recap of my sucsess of being a graduate. The whole class settles down and you can see the calm on all their faces.

I find that when you relate your past with your students or how you started out, it shows the students that you're just like them. This allows the students to relate to you and you're able to relate with the students.

Im also a former student where i now instruct. I think telling the students this helps them see I have done the work there doin and made it in the field. I feel like i get a lot of respect from this.

Congrats.... to you! I love hiring my graduates as instructors. Graduates tend to make excellent instructors. It is such a motivating piece to the students. I love graduate instructors, they understand what the institution is all about. They know how to relate to our type of students. I got excited reading your response....I fully understand!!
