What's the secret? It seems that being prepared isn't always the answer. How do you avoid running out of things to do/teach for the day?
I do believe that in teaching courses like the Medical Assisting you will always find something to teach your students after you finish covering the topic of the day and by giving some time for ansering their questions which in many cases bring up interesting points to discuss.
Hi Don,
Over prepare so that you do not run out of things to do. Have two days worth of work for one day so that you know you will have enough. There is no secret to reduce instructor anxiety, it reduces with time. The more you teach, the more comfortable you will become, and the nerves will get better.

When I teach I break topics into main concepts. I rely upon framing. I tell the students what they will learn; I teach the topic; I use questioning for the students to tell me what they what they learned (elaboration and correction is possible here); I summarize what was learned. The questioning allows me to stretch or compress time
