I like it! You lay down your ground rules on Day 1. Students are not in for any surprises, and they know you mean business.

Day 1 of a new class I go over the syllabus and let them know what is expected of them to pass the class. At the same time I explain how the class will be run everyday. I also have a hand-out that goes in to more depth on the running of our kitchen, and the rules and what there role is. I stay the course for the entire class.
